The Bachelor of Social Work program is a professional program designed to prepare generalists who are knowledgeable of social work theories who can demonstrate skills related to practice, research, and social policy analysis. The Inner City Social Work Program is for low-income students living in Winnipeg who are 21 years or older with inner-city volunteer experience in need of academic support.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

    The Bachelor of Social Work is an advanced entry program, which means that you must complete at least 30 credit hours of university-level study with a minimum GPA of 2.5 before you can be considered for admission. This requirement includes Educational Equity applicants.


    Applicants must now meet the following course requirements to be considered eligible for admission into the program:

    Within the 30 credit hours, successful completion of the courses identified below, with a minimum grade of ā€˜C’ in each course. All required courses (30 credit hours) must be at the 1000-level or higher.
